The GMINFO MUSH attribute is a place for players to store tidbits of information regarding their character so that a GM can access it and make use of it. This MUSH attribute can be set for both characters and objects. Any time you allow someone access to your character's sheet using the +gm/ok command, you are also allowing them access to your GMINFO MUSH attribute and the GMINFO MUSH attributes of anything you own (via
+gminfo <character name> or
+gminfo <reference number>).
Explanations of Background points, any special items you always carry (weapons, talens, etc.), and general character history are all appropriate for GMINFO. Fetishes in particular MUST be detailed in GMFINO.
If you find your GMINFO is becoming too long, you can split it up over a handful of objects as well as your character. You might make an object to represent a Fetish, and then assign the Fetish's information to that object's GMINFO so it doesn't clutter your character's main GMINFO.
The GMINFO MUSH attribute accepts MUSH substitutions for formatting purposes (eg. %r, see help substitutions on-game for a complete list, or this wikipage) and is set as a string of text.
To set a character's GMINFO, do the following:
&GMINFO me=Bill always carries his trusty Bic lighter. He's terrified--no really, terrified--of mice, due to an unfortunate incident on his Rite of Passage.
You can also use a reference number, either for a character or when setting an object's GMINFO:
&GMINFO #9876=Bill always carries his trusty Bic lighter. He's terrified--no really, terrified--of mice, due to an unfortunate incident on his Rite of Passage.
