A ritual used to determine if a child is Kin or Garou. If the later, the ritual marks them with a spiritual brand and ties a watch-spirit to them to warn the Tribe (or, if no Tribal member is available, any Garou they can find) when the cub is about to undergo its First Change. These spirits are known as Kin-fetches, and although they are tied to the child by blood as part of the Rite, they do not always stay with them. This usually results in a Lost Cub.

The ritual should be performed when the baby is one month old, on the same moon they were born under.
